David Hicks grew up in Alaska where he learned the traditional Alaskan values of independence and determination. David spent his younger years in Bethel, Alaska, which gave him the unique perspective and experience of growing up in a rural community. David moved to Anchorage as a teen and graduated from Dimond High School and attended the University of Alaska Anchorage, where he obtained a degree in Finance.
David then moved to Spokane, Washington, where he attended the Gonzaga School of Law, graduating with honors in the top 5 of his class. In law school, David obtained his Kalispel Bar License which allowed him to practice in the tribal court of the Kalispel Native American Tribes of Washington and Montana. His primary practice area was utilizing the Kalispel Tribal Code and the Indian Child Welfare Act to facilitate the reunification of families.
After attending law school, David returned to Alaska. At Clayton & Diemer, David focuses on civil litigation in the areas of tort, contract, and insurance law. He plans to remain in Alaska for the remainder of his career while advocating for the interests of Alaskans. David enjoys skiing, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his rescue dog Tony.
